What Food to Eat While Living in South Korea

Our first couple weeks in Korea have opened up a whole new world to us and our taste buds! I am a less adventurous eater than Steve and was; therefore, concerned about trying many new foods.  I admit that a week or so prior to leaving and upon arrival I was very concerned about finding food that I would like to eat. In Korea, basically, all foods are new to us.

We have tried many new things (some things we have loved and other things we have put in the never again file). We have, at times been deceived by foods that look familiar such as post brand cereal or Cheetos. Things aren't always what they appear to be here. On the other hand, things that do not look that appetizing can be the most delicious of all. We have found several go to restaurants and items on the menu that we can order in Korean. In Korea, restaurants are so cheap that you can go out to eat for every meal if you really want to! They have the restaurant business figured out! You do not tip because the workers are paid a reasonable wage. Also, most tables have a button that you press when you want the server to come to your table. They always leave a copy of the bill and update it after every thing that you order so there is never a surprise at the end of the meal. Overall, we are very happy with the food here and enjoy trying many new things!
Enjoy some photos of what we've been eating!

This was a bad food experience. We went to a restaurant and they didn't speak a word of English. This was our 3rd day here so Steve just pointed to some things on the menu and we got an unpleasant surprise! Dinner for about 7 people and some scary sea creatures in a strange black sauce. yucky!
